Using Your Brain for a Change
My first Richard Bandler book, and still one of the best. A great introduction to submodalities and playing with your own brain.
I have read a lot of books on NLP over the years, as well as attend many trainings. These days with so many trainers and NLP writers around it can be very difficult to decide where to invest your time and money. Hopefully the following reviews will be of interest.
When it comes to NLP books there are far too many to review them all, and far too many "me-to" type books. As a general rule a beginner is better off sticking to the big names: Richard Bandler, Robert Dilts, Steve Andreas, and Paul Mckenna are easy to recommend. I exclude John Grinder (one of the co-developers of NLP) from my book reviews simply because his work, while worthwhile, is too advanced for most beginners. More NLP reviews will appear from time to time, so please check back regularly. If there are any books that you would like an opinion on, then please contact PlanetNLP.com.
The following books are particulary good for someone new to NLP, and provide a good foundation of the enormous range of skills that a good NLP practitioner requires:
My first Richard Bandler book, and still one of the best. A great introduction to submodalities and playing with your own brain.
An exquisite and unsual NLP book in so many ways.
The Book that made Antony Robbins.
In many ways a follow up to 'Using Your Brain for a Change' - more advanced and more intreging.
An early yet thorough exploration of NLP and still as valid today.
Is NLP for Dummies any good? Or is it's reputation deserved?
There are many books offering NLP as the solution to specific issues. Currently I have mostly Paul McKenna's books, not because his are the only books of value, but that they are of a good quality, and I really like Pauls style of writing. The cds are excellent too.
Richards most 'self-help' book - and a good introduction to many NLP concepts.
Change your entire life, goals and direction - in Seven Days.
Improve your confidence with Paul McKenna's NLP exercises and hypnosis CD.
Paul McKenna's best selling guide to Weight Loss.
Paul McKenna helps you deal with money and get Rich.
Without Hypnosis, there would probably be no NLP. Using NLP to teach hypnosis is a no-brainer. These are the books I recommend:
Hypnotize your friends, neighbours, even your pets!
Learn to use hypnotic language in a training environment.
My favorite book on Hypnosis - after reading this you may even find yourself hypnotising people without thinking about it!
NLP, Persuasion, and Sales have been associated for many years, and there are many books on the subjects. Personally, as in all areas of NLP I tend to stick to the writers who offer trainings and whom have a good reputation.
Learn how to sell by developing your persuasion skill - the Richard Bandler way.
Mark Hogan and James Speakman share there covert persuasion tips.
