The Top 10 Phobias - a list of the top ten Phobias

In the meantime, my first top 10 phobias are the ten most common phobias:

• Arachnophobiba - Fear of spiders.
• Social Phobia - Fear of being evaluated negatively in social situations.
• Aviophobia (also Aviatophobia) - Fear of flying.
• Agoraphobia - Fear of the outdoors, crowds or uncontrolled social conditions. Fear of leaving a safe place.
• Claustrophobia - Fear of confined spaces.
• Acrophobia (also Altophobia) - Fear of heights.
• Emetophobia - Fear of vomiting.
• Cancerophobia (also Carcinophobia) - Fear of cancer.
• Astraphobia (also Astrapophobia, Brontophobia, Keraunophobia) - Fear of thunder and lightning.
• Necrophobia - Fear of death or dead things.

Next in our list of top 10 phobias is a list of the ten most unusual phobias - admitedly this is somewhat subjective list, but there is at least one on this list I think I'd prefer to fix myself without visiting a therapist:

• Ithyphallophobia - Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis.
• Ephebophobia - Fear of Youth.
• Coulrophobia - Fear of clowns.
• Ergasiophobia - Fear of work or functioning. Surgeon's fear of operating.

• Cainophobia (also Cainotophobia, Cenophobia, Centophobia, Kainolophobia, Kainophobia, Neophobia) - Fear of newness, novelty.
• Paraskavedekatriaphobia - Fear of Friday the 13th.
• Panophobia (also Pantophobia) - Fear of everything.
• Taphephobia (also Taphophobia) - Fear of being buried alive or of cemeteries.
• Pteronophobia - Fear of being tickled by feathers.
